Welcome
For many people, the decision to begin therapy can be difficult and anxiety-provoking. I largely work from an analytically-based relational psychotherapy perspective, though believe it is useful and necessary to draw from different treatment models to come up with a plan together with my clients that feels constructive and valuable. I work hard to find a balance between meeting my clients where they are at emotionally, and listening closely for unconscious material that may be impacting their lives in counter-productive, emotionally painful, or even harmful ways. I am uniquely capable of providing a containing and non-judgmental space, and am particularly interested in working with issues that arise as a result of counter-culture lifestyles. I bring a social justice perspective to my work, meaning that I take the entirety of my clients' environment as equally important and formative as their early childhood relationships and mental processes.
My areas of clinical interest and experience include:
Relationship struggles
Trauma
Anxiety
Depression
LGBTQ Identities
Self-esteem and co-dependency
Parent-child conflict
Severely Emotionally Disturbed adolescents
Stage-of-life changes
Counter-culture lifestyle issues
Grief and loss
Addiction
Self-harm
Finding a therapist that is a good fit is often difficult; I encourage anyone interested in beginning therapy or building upon a previous therapy to contact me for a consultation to see whether my skills and services are a good match for your needs.
